2020 Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 Review

Swift, luxurious and beautiful, the fact this car has so little notoriety is absolutely mind boggling.Granted, we do live in a time in which SUVs rule the roads, but the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 deserves a whole lot more love than it’s getting. Time and again onlookers lavished praise upon its tightly drawn, yet curvaceous lines — then asked me what it was.

Demonstrating beauty can be more than superficial, the Infiniti’s plush and comfortable interior features quality materials, an equally eye-pleasing design and every modern convenience. However, the mechanical parking brake (foot-operated, no less) and the old-school shift lever do strike me as being somewhat anachronistic when direct competitors have gone electronic in both of those areas.

On the other hand, motivation, as the Infiniti’s nomenclature suggests, comes from a sonorous 400-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6. Rear-drive and a seven-speed automatic transmission are standard. All-wheel drive is an option.

Acceleration is thrilling, while road holding is tenacity exemplified. Stability, steering response and braking are commensurate with the engine’s performance potential as well.

In other words, this is one brilliantly driver-oriented coupe. Sadly though, it exists in a time during which more people seem to want to ride rather than drive. That’s a shame, because the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 absolutely loves to be driven and rewards its driver in so many different ways.

Of course I like it!

Pricing starts at $41,350.
